Covington Theological Seminary was chartered in 1977 for the purpose of providing conservative biblical and theological training for students applying to this religious institution. Our mission is to prepare Christian leaders for Christian service. We have not nor will we seek governmental acceptance, accreditation, or funding for the effectiveness of our programs. We have maintained that posture throughout these almost fourty years and will continue to do so. Our purpose is clear; we do not seek to prepare our students for secular work or denominational service. We will seek to provide a sound theological standing from which our students may build their life and an effective Christian ministry for the glory of Jesus Christ in His church.

The accreditation we currently hold is with ACI, Accrediting Commission International. Our choice of ACI many years ago was for the purpose of providing institutional accountability for our Seminary. Accrediting Commission International is the world´s largest non-government school accrediting association. ACI states of itself: "Due to the views of most of our schools concerning the separation of church and state, we have never applied to the U.S. Department of Education for any affiliation with the government. We are an independent accrediting agency. We specialize in the seminary, Bible College, and small specialized school that does not fit into the programs of other accrediting agencies."

For these almost forty years, we have followed our commitment to train God's servants for service. Our students have been accepted to many prestigious programs. It is common for us to hear graduates of Covington note that the training they receive from Covington far exceeds the training they receive in more traditional seminaries. We are grateful for the sound reputation that we have built and will continue our commitment to train leaders for ministries of impact for the Body of Christ.
